Tolman's performance as Minnesota cop Molly Solverson was praised by Vanity Fair, who wrote: "She calmly and confidently took over the entire show". Tolman won a Critics' Choice Television Award for her performance in the category Best Supporting Actress in the category of Movies/Miniseries.
